Expansion & Diversification

Expansion & Diversification of Practitioners

Acknowledging the changing demographics of North America, this group is exploring ways to introduce the Feldenkrais Method® to a wide variety of individuals. People seeking services generally want to work with people they can identify with. Currently, the average age of Feldenkrais practitioners is over 62 and practitioners are mostly white and female. This project opens pathways for a diversity of new practitioners to help people growing up and maturing in a stressful world.

The First Project

The 'Inclusion Initiative' is to make Feldenkrais classes accessible to communities who have not had the opportunity to experience this work. Classes are free, or pay as you can, to reach out to younger people, people from more diverse backgrounds, and other people than now comprise the community of Feldenkrais practitioners.

Feldenkrais® Inclusion Initiative (FII) website and discussion board an invitation to learn more about the Feldenkrais Method®, sign up for Initiative classes, and see weekly notes on the discussion board.
